Programs: Teen Drop-In Centers

21% of youth 14-21 aren’t
sure a young person can
succeed in this area.

Program Description

We have two Teen Centers, one in Newport and one in Canaan. Both provide a safe place for youth ages 12-20 to relax, hang out, play pool, basketball or Wii, eat and have fun.  The centers are staffed by youthworkers who make connections with participants and provide activities, referrals, advocacy, and education in a non-judgmental manner.

The philosophy of our Teen Drop-in Centers is based on an individual’s potential for positive growth and change toward self-reliance. We are committed to providing emotional, educational, nutritional and peer assistance to young adults who want to improve the quality of their lives. Throughout the year, we plan activities to get young people involved with their community. Some of these include maintaining a garden in the summer months, participating in Green Up Day activities, and organizing an annual BBQ at Crystal Lake.

Youth interested in participating in Teen Centers activities, or anyone looking for more information, can contact Preston Hall, Samantha Bonneau, Catherine Vanasse, or Brooke Everton at (802) 334-7316 in Newport, or. You can also stop by at either location between 1pm-6:30 pm Melissa Ducret or Mandie Hibbard in Canaan at (802) 266-7134 Monday through Friday.
